First a little backround, I recently bought an 89 cc lb 4x4 with a 97 7.3 with an E40D and manual1356 drivetrain. The truck was a 460 zf5 4x4. For whatever reason the orig driveshaft was included but obviously too short. Alright, my ? is would a front driveshaft from a gasser with the same tranny and tc fit?

The 97 would of had a 4407 T-case. So they must of used the 1356 from the 88.

The 88 probably was a C6 or 5speed truck and that is why your front driveshaft is too short with the E4OD(E4OD is LONGER) But that also raises the question, is your rear driveshaft TOO LONG and jammed into the back of the t-case?
