Alright so my dad took his '06 6oh in to have the EGR cleaned (I told him I could do it for him, but he said its under warranty, they should do it.) Anyways the truck has almost 40k miles on it, I now do the regular maintainence on it and I have only changed the fuel filter on top of the motor about two oil changes ago. The service rep said the second fuel filter, the one on the frame rail needs to be changed every 15k he also said at the tune of $170!!!!!! What the flip, Kip? Theres no way they should cost that much. Where should I buy them from otherwise?

I asked my dad how much he pays for the filter and he said he gets the one that is in the engine bay and the one on the frame for 40-50 bucks for both of them.

You can buy the fuel filter SET for 31-35 at an IH truck dealer. Part #1847170C93. If you buy them at a parts store make sure the primary (frame mounted under the cab) has the white aquabloc membrane. The smaller filter won't have it.

Snap on has a really nice socket with two sides one for the top filter and the other side for the bottom fuel and works for oil also for about $25.
