I have a 2001 with 118K on it. I have owned it for 30k or so. To me the truck has always seemed to idle just a little bit rough, particularly after It has warmed up. Yesterday I noticed some increase in noise, and found the oil was 2 or 3 quarts low and a few fine metal shavings on the towel I wiped the dipstick with. I have about 2500 miles on the oil. I have noticed that the truck is leaking a small amount of oil that seems to be coming from the hpop. The truck seems to run as well as it has since I have owned it, but I do suspect the previous owners neglected maintenance to some degree. Any chance that this is not a major problem? From my searches I have gathered that metal in the oil could be from a failing bearing in the turbo or in hpop, or could be a sign of a major catastrophe...

Thanks
