New to me, f350 dually super cab ran fine but had a "tick" on driver side, got it home & changed oil & filter / fuel & air filters, then noticed fine metal in oil filter, I hope it is only rocker arm wear & not need new cam & lifters, the metal is magnetic, truck has 288,000 and I have less than $3,000 in it, worst case a complete rebuild & Ill be at book value, I am going to delete egr, doc, & run a tuner, anyone's experience with similar problems & advise greatly appreciated

If it is something that you can feel with your fingers or see with your eyes you have problems.

I'd get a free oil sample kit from Blackstone Labs and get a sample sent off to them on your next oil change.
