I bought a F 250 about a week ago, it runs and shifts great until it warms up, about 15 minutes, then The OD light flashes, it shifts hard and slips a little bit.
The fluid looks slightly old and dirty but not burned.
I tried to drive it to the shop to get the codes but it was too difficult to shift. I can bring it there on a trailer next week but I was just wondering if someone else has had these symptoms and what the problem was.
Thanks

I had something similar....
Od light started flashing as soon as i got over 15mph... turns out the vss was unhooked from the tranny. Plugged it back in and no flashy od light anymore

The ONLY way to know what's wrong is to get the codes read. The places that read codes free CANNOT read these codes. You need either a good independent shop or a Ford dealer. The codes stay in the computer's memory for about a month after the last time the light flashed.
