start my truck up for the first time of the day and it idles really rough..i put it into drive after a minute or so and the idle shot up..

it was idling so wierd that it made itself shift and pick up speed (kinda scary in an 8,000 lbs truck)

after i drove it a while my check engine light went on but it smoothed out and was no longer running rough....what could it be? no white smoke, had an EGR system replace a week ago, new fuel filters and separator.

possible injection failure?

Have you taken the tune out of it? My friend has that same issue or almost the same. he took out the tune and all is well. it turned out his tune was causing it.

this is detuned and after it was just in at ford. i took it in this morning and here is what the tech said:

it looks like an injection issue (big suprize...not). so he goes on to explain to me that, which i did not know, the injectors are controlled by oil pressure and he continues on explaining the system to me. i stop him and say wait...you guys just did an EGR system and oil cooler on this thing a week ago and i didnt have these problems prior to that, now your telling me my injectors are controlled by oil pressure...do you see what i am getting at? (he immediately got all butt hurt) and tried to tell me that he isnt just going to start throwing parts at my truck and if i want i can go to a different dealer that will do that but he doesnt want to get audited and loose his job.

Ok Talk to Dj, Diesel dont like the cold if you can plug it in a night, also DJ can also edit the Tune and add a cold start to it as well.

Mine idles up like your saying when its cold nothing wrong with that. It runs rough as well but thats cause its cold.

If you plug it in you'll keep the it warm through out the night and it be easier to start in the morning. my 2 cents.

im running his stuff...and it wasnt running his stuff when it started to have these problems....it went in for an EGR and hadnt run tunes since then so its SOMETHING for did.

as for cold start i talked to vivian on it...im in so cal...its at coldest here like 50 or 60 lol...she said that their cold starts are for like when its 30 or less.

oh thanks for the thought though. i just got it back, they replaced some of the sensors in the high presure oil part of the system and its all fixed!!!!

i am not sure. they said it was the high pressure oil sensor so if thats what its called then yep! you got it.

When it did this did it cause your turbo to change pitches?

NOPE...i got it all fixed up now.

my turbo does bark though.....
