I am rebuilding a "spare 7.3 engine". So far, this unit looks quite good. I wanted to ask about valve lifters.

I am planning on replacing the lifters and am looking for opinions/recommendations on staying with OEM or aftermarket units that may be better. I plan on keeping the stock cam profile, and I might upgrade the valve springs, depending on how the existing springs spec out when the engine goes to the machine shop.

Also, anyone have the compressed thickness of the OEM head gasket?
