I need help with this engine part number stamped behind oil cooler rear header.
7.4J U2U 007539 I think it`s a 94 but not sure. I have two front covers one is part #1823536C1 the other is part # 1815915C1. First one is on engine. Last person that worked on this engine was not getting oil the HPOP. LOLP gears were in backwards and I think it may have the wrong front cover installed.
Thanks for any help. Bill

I'm thinking the one on the engine is for a 97 and the second is the correct one for the engine. The position of the oil pickup is different between the 2 I think, so look out for that. Cheers!

Thanks Patrick. One more question, are all the oil pumps the same? LPOP.

I think they are the same. The only thing I've found is that they put a marking of "OUT" or "DAMPER" on the pump's face to ensure the pump is installed correctly. Not sure if the aftermarket pumps such as Melling have also done this. Cheers!
