Maybe some of you guys have already figured this out, but we figured out that the egr cooler removal does not require lifting the intake (though river city diesel said we had to). all that's required is a grinder with a minimum of a 5" cut off wheel. this was done on an 04 truck (03 engine) while we cleaned the turbo. if you rotate the cooler and then lift it slightly over the heat shield, it will clear. then, if you really want to save the cooler, a welder can tig wild the tit back onto the cooler. this is on a truck with stock fueling mind you, so dad did not want to lift cab/install head studs/do heavy mods, etc.
