I have a 96 f250 with 7.5 with the e4od side of my case broke and I don't know if I can use an e4od from another 460 and it because everybody's telling me it has to be the same year especially with the 1996 has anybody have any input on this or know anything about it

I dont think the year matters, but the bell housing is different from the small block, big block and the diesel. So make sure it's one out of a 460.

exactly. an E4OD is an E4OD.
as long as the case is from a 460, it will work.

well, almost every 460 case will work. if it is a 4X4, you will need a 4X4 case, 2 wheel drive, you will need a 2 wheel drive case.

Not true. There is only one case for 4x2 and 4x4. The extension housing, output shaft, pan, and filter are different between the two, but the cases are identical.
