my truck in 3rd gear has slight engine brake with Overdrive On. and it acts the exact same with overdrive off. the trans has set no codes at all and i believe that may be the problem. Does replacing it require a entire rebuild? not much info around on it. Is there anyway to check the operation? also would the Coast Clutch Solenoid cause any other symptoms being stuck on

thanks!

With the solenoid stuck on you're going to have a big problem in fourth gear. Either the coast clutch has to slip, or the overdrive clutch has to slip, or the rear wheels have to stop turning.

The coast clutch solenoid can be replaced by removing the pan. The trans stays in the truck.

So what could cause the coast clutch to be on in 3rd gear in overdrive? Thanks Mark appreciate it!

The solenoid could have failed. It's likely that the coast clutch itself has come apart. That will make it drag on at different times.
