Hey guys, I have a couple quick questions about DP-Tuner. I have heard alot of great things about them but i was wondering a couple things:

- Is a single pos Econo chip safe to run w/ a stock tranny 24/7 ?
-In the city realistically what mpg can i expect, if i drive easily
-Highway mileage?

Currently I have a straight pipe 3.5" and a afe Stage I intake

Thanks for the help!

If that's what you want, he actually sells an upgraded pcm just for that.

Absolutely.

If you want to do a PCM with a daily driving tune you can do that. You can get a single position F5 chhip and then add tunes later if you want to. We also have the New Edge Evo II that Jody can put his 7.3 chip tunes on.

As far as fuel mileage there so many variables. Fuel adequency, driving style, and maintenence of the truck. Driving around in town in a tow tune is my favorite because how the down shift is. Makes it easier while driving in traffic. The 60 tow or 80 tow is perfect for that. Open highway I would choose the 80 Hp Daily driver tune.

Ultimately mpg gains, we like to see 2-4 better.

it really depends on what kind of mileage you are getting now and how heavy your foot is. If you have a light foot, you might see 1-2 mpg improvement. Dont want to tell you that u will get more than that for the sake that u could be disappointed

The 80 econo is a nice tune,my held up fine and i beat the crap out of it.
I gained about 3mpg when i could keep my foot out of it,which is very hard.

I work with a guy (Subman: not here yet) that runs a PCM flashed the the 80hp econo and he loves it. He regularly tows his boat or camper with no problems. I think he said he' getting 19.5 mpg with his '02 SC long bed 2 wheel drive, auto tranny. As mentioned before, you start adding mods and as the big power guys break stuff and figure out how to get around breaking stuff, you buy more and more. It is a nasty cycle that has no end. (Well maybe it ends with an extra drain hole in the block) but no worries with the 80 hp econo.

What would the reason for that be? Less power for traction?

Yes, too many ponies (Actually TQ) for too little traction.
