Anything Dorman is JUNK

Stick with the ford cooler. Dorman is what you use when you can't get anything else. They are not horrible but this is the kind of thing you only want to do once. The ford kit is not that expansive if you order it from tousley (where i got mine).

I didn't think dorman made one for the 6.4? either way the 6.0 ones are horrible!! we recently finished one that needed 3800 in repairs from failed dorman cooler installed by the ford dealer!!!! I think we have pulled at least 10 of them this year because the gaskets turned to green mush

check ebay I have bought a bunch of them new in ford box under 200 bucks

Yea ebay is great for new in box parts. Just make sure they are new, unopened, oem and from a seller with a good rep. Just do a search for the ford part number.

:whs: there are a few ford dealers selling parts . that look like 10% over cost.

Thanks guys. I don't need one. I had just not heard good or bad about the brand.

What is bad about them? Bad design? Bad materials?

Cheap Chinese copy with wrong materials "gaskets not compatible with diesel oil" poor welds inferior stampings. just plain junk. Buy genuine ford. Be carful some "diesel shops rebox them dorman and include a ford gasket set and sell them as there brand. I refused to install them before you can see where they sanded off the dorman logo. Pretty crappy if you ask me
