my 2004 6.0 sprung a fuel leak and I am assuming it is coming from that little problematic key shaped O ring. I figured while I am replacing that it would be a perfect time to do the blue spring upgrade. I have noticed that the kits online with that key shapred O ring and the blue spring (plus the other stuff) are like 20-30 bucks but when I drove up to the ford dealer they told me it would be 80 dollars!

I would prefer to get the parts from ford or international but not if the parts are really 4x the cost... so I am wondering if the "blue spring upgrade" really needs to be OEM and if so, is 80 bucks really the going rate??

thanks

I didn't know there was any other options other than Ford Motorcraft. I, personally, am inclined to only trust the Ford parts for things of that nature. But you could certainly give a non-oem a shot.

I don't have any first hand experience, but a spring is a spring is a spring right?
