I believe Gregrob got his injector parts from Rosewood, you might want to talk to him. I think he also had a bunch of pictures when he swapped the parts.

It's not really all that hard to take the injectors apart and reassemble them. It just like a big puzzle, just put the pieces in where they fit and then simply install. Biggest thing is to keep everything very clean.

Fire away with the questions :D

Converting your AD's to single stage 2's will cost a little more because you'll be paying for plungers and barrels, and nozzles.

If I were you I would skip the "Stage 2's" which would mean skipping the larger nozzles and keeping them stock.

Rather than a typical stage 2 (160cc) I decided to 180cc and keep the stock nozzle. Safer, IMO, on PMRs.

As long as there are absolutly no issues or worn parts with your injectors you will likely be successful with them. There is a little more to it than "just put the pieces in where they fit and then simply install." There are parts that have to be put together properly and in the right order and need special tools to align properly. If you have any nozzles that are out of ballance there is absolutly no way to really be able to tell with out flow testing them which requires a flow bench. If you are confident in your mechanical ability and aptitude then it can be done. If you want to know that they are done correctly and have been tested for functionality and ballance have a fuel shop do them.

Yep, just like I said, put all the pieces in where they belong and it'll work fine. Then you simply install them into the truck. Sorry if you find that so complicated.

As for the nozzles, it'd be best to have a set of nozzles done by someplace like DDP. However I'm thinking his nozzes have been working without being matched for the life of the truck and they'll continue to do so if he wants. It's not the best, but it will work just fine.

yeah just throw them all in there and when the popit valves don't work because you just stuck them in and didn't have the special tool to align them properly don't ask me why. Like I said there are special tools to do it for a reason and a little more to it than just putting them together the way they came apart. But what do I know I've only done a few hundred injectors in a professional fuel shop with the proper tools and a flow bench. Complicated? Hardly.

The nozzles are the single most critical item to the injectors matching in flow. A slight difference in one will throw it off. The PCM will compensate for up to 15% I belive it is but if you have one flowing 15% less than the others that's 15% less you could be getting out of the set. Only way to know is to flow test the injectors.

Whats up hotwheels, welcome to the nation.

A little on topic, have you had the chance with the hundreds of injectors you've built to flow a set of RDS injectors with thier new larger nozzles?

Thanks! That depends on where RDS get's their nozzles from. The shop in general doesn't do performance upgrades but I've done a TON of R&D on my own time. There are a couple of customers that bring in injectors to have us overhaul and install their larger nozzles on a regular basis though. I'm not sure where they all get their nozzles from but I have a good idea where some come from. I've got a couple sets of nozzles comming in that I'm going to have checked out from a couple different places to see how they compare to what I've played with in the past as well.

so how did you end up with 180cc?
My injectors mathematically flow 180cc based on the amount machined off the plunger.

I don't know the exact measurements off the top of my head but basically you take off X for 160cc. So you can figure out how much per cc to take off and make them flow whatever you want (up to a certain point).

Jim did the machine work for me.

so you basically have stage 2's, but still using the old stock nozzles?

how do you like them? why not use the new nozzles?

as far as having mine flowed, i did not, not that i shouldn't but the injectors were fine before i took them out and did the mods to the intensifier piston only. I feel safe in saying that mine are close enough for me, if all else fails i am only out the little money spent on the machining. So far i have had no issues.
