Just got the DiPricol HPOP guage and was planning to put it on the windshield mount. But, I was wondering if anyone had any experience to pass on.

Is the sensor wire long enough from the windshield mount?

Connect the sensor wire into the oil pressure sensor on the rail, or the oil pressure switch on top of the HPOP?

Thanks....

The sensor wire in the pre-made harness they send you it waaay long, but may need to be lengthend for the windsheild.

You need to connect it to the ICP signal wire. I connected mine to it at the 42 pin engine harness connector

Dieselfever,

I see three wires coming off the HPOP sensor on the drivers side rail.

brown with a white strip
blue with a green strip
white with a red stripe

Is is safe to assume that the white w/red is the power, brown w/white is ground and the blue w/green is the return signal wire I need? I hat hacking into the wire harness - just trying to do this right the first time...

Yes Blue/Green is the one that you want, the wire on the gauge harness is also blue/green to help also I believe. You are also correct on the other 2 wires I believe.

Thanks Mike, I just thought it was too good to believe that the wires would be the same color. That is great, thanks for the heads up. I was looking for the 42 pin harness since I don't think my harness is long enough to go from the windshield. Can you give me a heads up were that bugger is? I feel pretty stupid right now....

Hopefully the Swamps single shots will be ready to go in next week, wanted to get this guage up in running so I can see any difference in the HPOP.

Rich

Edit: FOund it - big huge box sitting on the drivers side VC. Man, I need some more coffee

Thanks for the help Mike. Got her done today. There was barely enough wire from the windshield mount, but it made it to the engine harness connector.

Thanks ITP, that Dipricol guage is nice.....

Good to hear! How did you do your backlighting source?? On the parking light or all the time like it says?

Note: I hooked my gauge power up to power all the time and it kinda messes up the reading once in a while and I have to unplug it and plug it back in to reset. Probably should have mentioned it before you finished yours, but hopefully you put yours to key on power like I need to do.

Hope you enjoy your swamps injectors! What set are you getting? 175/146 singles?

I hooked up the guage power to an "ignition on" source. But I did hook up the backlight source to the dimmer switch just like my other guages on the A-pillar. Don't know why the instructions suggest not to hook it up to the dimmer but to the parking light, I know the guages have there individual dimmer but I can't see messing with 3 dimmer switches while driving.....

I have no idea what "normal" HPOP readings should be with stock splits and stock single HPOP. Right now I see between 500-600 at idle. Wondering if I will see a difference after Swamps 175/146 single shots.

I don't think at idle will be much different. I have twin pumps and DP tunes, idle at 700 icp. I am wondering how much icp the single pump will make. With twins you can get to 3800. My tunes are set for 3700 icp at WOT. I still need more fuel so not quite done yet.
I am wondering how much the single pump will put out.

I'll do some running on it this week along with pullin my 5'er this weekend. So far my guage (if everything is hooked up correctly:D) is reading 500 at idle and in the econo +80 I don't think it pushed higher than 2500. Anyhow, I'll keep a closer eye on the guage on T Wildman's NTWITA setting (WOT) and see how high she will climb. But I definitely don't see it getting up as high as yours. Stock HPOP & stock splits.

Finally had the time to finish the widshield mount guage install. Did the Dipricol HPOP a feww weeks ago and finally got around to finishing the fuel pressure guage. Both had just enough length on the wire harness to make it up to the windshield mount. Another foot or so would have been nice (that's what she said.....:D!).

Thanks for the help & advice.....
