The early valve covers are a simple metal cover. The newer style are a sandwich there is 2 layers of metal with a rubber layer in the middle.

 

Know a good place for aftermarket covers? PSD engines don't make it to the pick-a-part places around here.

 

wish some one would make some aftermarket valve covers.. would be nice.. prob would sell a ton of them..

 

There are a few companys that sell dolled up valve covers. But it might cost just the same to get them from the dealer

The early trucks used 10mm bolts to hold the VCs on the older trucks used 13mm

 

A set of covers from a 99 should fit a 96 right?

 

Yes all 7.3 valve covers are interchangeable. The thinner '94.5-'95 covers had the same size holes just the heads of the bolts were smaller
