I took my 97 for its first run with the BD's and the HX50. It hit 45lbs for a sec :rockwoot: and then started to stumble. After that I couldn't get it over 30 lbs. As soon as I hit 25lbs it would just start to stumble. I think it was defueling. I am going to put a regulator on the MAP line and see what happens. I thought the OBS didn't have this problem

mine defueled over 25psi. i put a map fooler in it and it wasnt an issue anymore. just dont have your boost gauge on the same line as the limiter. i put a tee in my ypipe and put the gauge on one and the line to the map and the map fooler right before the map and when i did it the gauge didnt show over 25. does yours have a 5speed in it? ive seen more of this with manual trans trucks

Don't know so I will ask. Is defueling the same as loosing fuel pressure? If it isn't then to the OP have you checked your fuel pressure at WOT?

My 95 5spd wont defuel either, and I can easily get 37+ psi.

Sounds like the way you described it, FP prolly isnt the issue, but it sure wouldn't hurt to check it anyways.

I used to hit 35 psi all the time with my stock turbo. Never had a problem. However with the turbo I have now once I get to between 30 and 35 psi it starts surging really bad. Put a regulator on it and it goes away completely.

Jodys tunes, I forgot what PCM code, will check tonight and post.

Defueling is the PCM cutting the fuel back, loosing fuel pressure is just that, loosing fuel pressure, Mine holds 67psi at wot

Yes, its a manual!

Was it surg or was it defueling? Are you the one that had the Live testing with Jody when he found it?

It wasn't surge as in the turbo surging. It was surging as in the boost would come up and it would defuel, boost would drop and it's fuel again, boost would come up and defuel, etc. It would do it relativly rapidly. Never had any live tuneing by anyone.

Cut the map down to 22 or 23 PSI and it seems to help. I do have other problems I need to talk to Jody about. As for the defueling, I feel it is gone. Once we get the programs all figured out I will take the map fooler out and see what happens.

My PCM code is ALF6

My 97 is a man and it don't defuel could be a programing thing.

I don't know what the PCM codes are that are on my chip to be honest. They are just what Lott put on them. But I'm assuming they are TDE1 because the TC stays locked until I touch the brakes rather than unlocking when I let off the accelerator. What PCM code do you run?

Last night trying to log info for Jody it started doing it again. Can't build past 25psi, clears the smoke up (defuels) and then once it hits 20psi then quickly builds to 25/30:confused:.

Ok, looked at it tonight and found the clamp for the turbo outlet off and the hose half on. (I am a dumb ass and didn't look close enough the other day). Fixed it, ran good. Boost needle went to the little stop over by the 0psi on a 35psi gauge when it blew the hose off the intake. Got to fix that now. Once I get all the bugs worked out I will pull the Map fooler and see what happens. :rockwoot:
