Is there a certain mileage at which the damper should be replaced? how do you know when it's starting to wear out? possibly trying to find an excuse for a fluidampr.
thanks,
chase
Ok that is a dirty number, I just pulled it out of my ......I used 150k as my excuse to get do the same thing. The fluidampr has been on the truck for 11k now. I noticed a difference when towing. Since I tow at 2100rpm, it is much smoother and less noisy on those long two day one-way hauls.
There is not set timeframe. Due to the design of the stock damper the service date will depend on use, environment, etc. They are fine so long as the elastomer is still bonded to both the inner and outer rings.
Just put a fluidampr on it because a viscous damper is a far better design.
just tell the ol lady you need to....it will fly .
It isn't a super high dollar item like injectors, big oil or a turbo.
diesel power said it gave them 16 hp in a built truck.
