Night and day diference. I have tunes from Eric at ID and old Sparten tunes

 

yep, no comparison. when i first got into diesels i got the canned tunes and really couldn't even tell a difference and was very dissapointed. When i got custom tuning i couldn't wipe the smile off my face

 

I just got to play with my SCT tonight with the canned performance tune. Its definitely pretty sweet compared to stock. I only have maybe 50 miles tonight of playing with it. Had a couple of scary points it seemed of over reving or something I dunno, but I am sending Eric an email tonight to get some of his tunes, if anything a more mild street tune with his trans tuning and such.

Hopefully I can get them sometime during next week, and if your around we could compare them on my truck or something.

 

I would deffinately be interested in seeing what the difference is. I am not exactly sure how they are writing these files but with everyone in a hurry to get them they must be good.

 

The canned tunes seem to react differently on various strategies. I've seen guys run in the high 13s with the performance tune and others that were nearly a full second slower. Some strategies are a little tougher to tune properly. You certainly won't be disappointed in Eric's tuning!

 

so he accually writes a file based on the strategies that the SCT pulls up off my truck, and every tune he writes is different?

 

Yea I'm guessing by now he doesn't have to custom write the tunes anymore. I am just thinking he has a couple billion tunes saved that fit most all strategies and mods. Then of course he can totally custom tune it for your mods and likes, like a Race file with fuel pulled out for some 190cc sticks and a stock turbo or something. Or a file for a fixed geometry turbo and 150cc sticks or something, but I am sure by now he has seen most all the combinations for each strategy out there.

 

all tunes are written and applied to your strategy which makes it work on your truck. iirc the tune gets written and perfected than you send em your strategy and they put the tune in a form for that strategy to work with.

Yep, big difference in Innovative's tune vs. a canned tune. Although I will say I wa pretty surprised at how well the SCT canned tunes performed on my truck too.

 

We are installing one and some gauges on a buddy's 06 saturday. He is going to run the can tunes for a little bit then go with some custom tunes. I keep telling him just the can tune is going to be a BIG diff from the banks he got rid of.

 

The canned tune on the SCT will be a big difference from the Banks from what I've seen at the track.

 

what about on a stock truck?
