has anyone thought about putting a big 8.3l:rockwoot: cummins instead of the 5.9l? is it just to big???

the 8.3 is not a well built motor compared to the 5.9

what make it not as strong .ive been trying to find out info about the other bigger cummins engines but i havent found anything good i do know there is a 8.3l cr out there tho. or what about a CAT or DT466. ive heard that it takes alot of money to get more power out of a CAT tho.


any thoughts???

For the size of an 8.3 cummins you could have a DT466... and they can be built nasty.

Take a look how many 1066 based pulling tractors there are out there, the 414-466 motors have a huge aftermarket and have proven to make big power again and again.

I would never go with a dt466 I'm hate IH red:lame:. Jd 404 -466 all can be bord out to a 619ci power house:gun:

I'm a deere man but I'd take an IH motor over an 8.3 cummins any day.

I would love to see a JD motor in a mod truck through...

Soon to come JD 8.1 to be correct all on a tube chassey with a drop box tranny. I'M OUT TO PROVE BEWARE OF THE GREEN MOTORS when I'm done with this beast:bow:
