crazy issues with my 6 position

so actually ever since i originally bought this from bullydog 6 years ago it doesnt work at every start, i have had it retuned 3 times from others, and it still doesnt work all the time. today i had to restart truck 4 times to get it to work. i have cleaned everything more than once, can the chip be bad?? or going bad??
