Damper = Harmonic Balancer.

Pipe wrench on the balancer with a sturdy rag to prevent gouge'n

Or wedge the flywheel.

I tried the flywheel and when you are all alone attempting 212 and the wedge keeps falling out you get PMTFO real quick like.Ended up talking it to the shop and that is how they did it pipe wrench.

I used a wedge on the flywheel with a floor jack to hold it in place. It made tightening and loosening the bolt a piece of cake.

Impact just kinda hammer it a tad till it feels good(unless you have a fluidamper then yes I would torque it to spec.

I didn't say hammer on it till you crack the oil pump ointlaugh: drive just kinda give it a few quick blasts. Also does anyone else put a dab of "grey death" on the keyway slop so as to prevent alittle leak?

Thanks guys. I ended up using a wood block. I did not torque it to exact specs because my torque wrench only went to 150. But I kept turning it after it hit 150. Should be close to 200 till I get an impact on it.

It ain't no ole gasser chevy that biatch is on there. Anyone ever spin the balencer off a 283 chevy? Been there done that crank was drilled and tapped after that.

I've put on hundereds of fluid dampers with my impact and never had a problem. If you know how yer tool feels it's no problem
