i just had something happen that in 30 plus years i,ve never had happen... i had a fuel line rupture right at the turbo intake causing a back fire into the air box after shutting down the truck an towing it home i replaced the cleaner
element . aat sensor...fuel line,pump and filters....now it will crank over just fine but won't start.... any ideas out there??? any help will be welcome
please keep in mind this is a 96 (old work horse) with a 7.3

Is the engine light on? Does the wait to start light come on? Have you tried checking the PCM for codes?

It will take a good bit of cranking to purge the air from the fuel system. With a mechanical pump you'll have to crank the motor over to get the fuel moving.

Just fill the fuel bowl up and crank for 30 seconds, then refill and crank again. Keep doing that and it will eventually start if you don't have any other issues.
