04 F550 6.0 - Driving it down the road under heavy load, died and within seconds noticed steam coming from under the hood. The degas bottle developed a crack and small hole and blew hot coolant all over the ficm.

No start, no smoke. Autogenuity reports U0306. We took the ficm out of a 06 F250 6.0 and try it on the truck. No start, but no codes. Put the 550 ficm in the 06 and same code.

I'm guessing the ficm was fried. Auto genuity is reading ficm voltage 12v and 48v but obviously and issue w it.

I still can't figure out why the 550 won't start w the 250 ficm. I'm thinking that we might have also fried the ficm harness to one side or the other or both.

Anyone have any thoughts?

It is possible that the PCM could have been affected. Maybe you could do an injector buzz test with the AE which might help to move the issue along.
