I just put mine on today. I was curious if you can make these functional? I cut a piece of the under hood insulation so that it would allow air flow by the tymar. I noticed small decrease in egt and running one pound of boost less at 75. It looks pretty good though

im glad you told me that it would have made a bad day If I found that the hard way. I would post a pic but its not working for me. I wont be able to tell for sure until my next road trip on the affects on mileage or power. that is to see if it was worth cutting the insulation to allow air flow to the filter.

I thought about hooking up ae and seeing what the intake air temps were then cover the hole and do a identical pass to see if they drop or not. not sure what other sensors to select to see if the hood helps at speed.

The wiper scrapes happen- at least only you will see them  Just wait till you get rock chips on the hood--- really puts a smile on your face:(

I have had mine for 4 yrs it has held up pretty well and there still isn't any others around town with the hood on there Ford as well which is really nice.

I thought about getting some of the rubber trim for edge of a car door and placing it on the top of the cowl. or the entire lenght of the back side. this is what I was thinking of using.

I thought about that but figured it would look kind of cheap like that chrome edge molding on the doors (sorry if anyone has that). I'm going to put a little pc of black rubber on the wiper arm where it would touch if I can find a nice thin black pc. I'm sure a hobby store would have some.

Hasn't someone figgured out a way to get one on there without having that happen?
Without what happening?

SH*T happens - dont worry about. PLUS you can't go back to the stock hood after you have a SWEET cowl hood on there.

I wish I could say this. Hear in arizona their are about 4 just in the town I live in. But most of the superdutys here just have big tires and shiny rims with not much more done to them.

I do like the idea of putting a rubber piece on the wiper arm. when I started thinking about molding I was thinking about what was getting hit, not what it was getting hit by. I think covering the arm may be the way to go. Espeacialy with some of the adhesives we have today. Im sure you could get anything to stick.

Or just make sure you don't put the wipers on and also lift the hood. I learned once and it hasn't happened again.
