I know most of you do this mod in top priority. Can you all tell me the benefits and why it's such a top priority and if its worth it on a basically stock truck? Thanks.

Yes it is worth it. It keeps the oil cooler from plugging up.

I am having trouble posting photographs to this forum. Jump over to Powerstoke Army and get my post "Another Look inside a Coolant Filter." I got more than a Lovin' Spoonful of casting sand. It's the color of a Hershey bar, and very fine, like grit. I am very happy to be safely and inexpensively removing this grit from my water pump. I use the DieselSite system, which came with 3 Balwin filters. Easy install. A coolant filter will be present on every vehicle I own, new or used.
