As the title says, just got a topper for the truck. Clear coat is flaking away in spots. What are my options to stop this and put new clear coat in those spots? Haven't had a chance to do any research yet.
Use the same process that is used for blending the color coat for dent repair. Same thing except you will be spraying clear. About the only thing you might end up doing is running a buffer and fine polishing compound over the whole thing when you are done to even things out.
On Edit: Unless it is actually a gelcoat finish. If it is, I wish you luck.
if you try to blend the clear theres a good chance it will halo later on where you did the repair your best bet would be to sand the whole thing with 400 and clear the whole cap
also ive used napa clear which is real inexpensive but very good for the money
My rear pads didn’t chirp when they got low, and I wore them into the backing metal. My rims were covered in rust that I couldn’t get off. Was scared to use brake clean on the finish.
Hit them with some Easy-Off and 10 minutes later I rinsed them shiny and clean.
Waxed them up and now good...
To start out, Holy Smokes my arm is about to fall off!!! Today I proceeded to Wash and do a professional Wax job on my 2011 F250 PSD. I did a two bucket wash, then I spray detailed and clay barred the whole body and windows.. That made the paint soo smooth! FYI this is my first go at a 3 stage...
Hi, my 2010 Harley Davidson f350 driver side fender emblem is starting to peel chrome off of the emblem. Has anyone had a specific company re do their emblem? (I am in Canada) Is it possible? I like the look and don’t really want to paint it black.
Any info would be much appreciated.
