I notice that there is a high pitched "chirp" noise when I shut off the engine. I noticed this a long time ago and thought nothing of it, then I returned to stock for a while and the noise went away.

Now I have installed tunes again, an the chirp is back. It last about 1 sec, and is only heard right after the motor shuts off.

What would make such a noise tuned vs stock?

Anything to be worried about?

common
it seems to be the belt slip when the compression puts the crank back to a less compressed stroke

Thanks for the quick response and info. Should I look at replacing the belt or leave it alone?

mine didn't do it untill I had some work done and the belt was off

I wouldn't change the belt they are good for a lot of miles but you can try some liquid soap ,dish liquid on the belt both sides apply when engine is not running
