cheap 16.5 wheels?

2156 Views 18 Replies 7 Participants Last post by  97-Powerstroke-37
Looking for a cheap set of 16.5 wheels. Does anyone still make them? I seen a lot of recentered 2 piece wheels but if anyone can refer me to a site that has either one piece 16.5 wheels or even cheap 2 piece 16.5 wheels that would be great. Wanting to run humvee tires and my truck is a pavement queen so looking at the more affordable options.

Thanks

Would these wheels work. Idk about the whole white wheels but i think it would look good sense my truck is white or do you guys think it would be too much? There cheap. But with the BS at 4" would they fit with the humvee tires? As the wheel being a 2 piece can I just unbolt the whee and put the tire inbetween then bolt them back together and just tore seal it or would I need to have a shop still do them?
If you keep an eye on Craigs List you can get used ones for about 100-200

Also that link you showed are not 2 piece you you are thinking. the center hub is just welded to the outer rim. You still need a shoot to mount/balance
Where are you located?
Fort carson, colorado

Will the wheels that I posTed though fit my truck with a 37x12.50 and the wheels not rub or at least fit? Truck has a 6" Sus on it.

Thanks
They will rub the leaf springs just like your 35s do. I guess you are not looking to lower it anymore?

Still up in the ait honestly. It'll be a daily driver but I love the way it looks lifted now and is starting to grow on me but if I go back to stock and keep the 35's I may gain little mpg back and more towing. I won't tow but like 2-3 times a year. Other than that'll it'll be to work and back and a daily driver
16.5" tires and rims are cheap if you watch long enough.

There's little middle ground on these. People either love or hate them. Listen to both perspectives, you need to be informed if you are going to run 16.5" wheels. I'm not saying to run them or to not run them, I'm saying for you get yourself informed.

Do your 35s rub? The 37s will rub more if mounted on the same tire.

As Brad says, even if the rim you were looking at was able to split (which it doesn't) it is getting the tire to balloon up enough fast enough to get the tire beads to seal enough to start pressurizing.

This is often done with a cheetah. Some tire shops won't mess with them.

Some ******** use flammable aerosols to do it. YouToube some "mudder tire bead seating" for some giggles.

Check out Bart Wheels I think they are super truckers. I found some on summit for around 100 bucks not sure of the bolt pattern though...
Also US wheel model 84-6980 and 84-6880 80 and 75 bucks respectfully... but i like the look of the bart wheels better they are all black. I know allot of hardcore wheelers and rock crawlers run 16.5 inch rims...
I'll just be running 37x12.50x16.5 biggest I'll go is 12.50 wide. What's the widest rim I can use with that width tire? What's the idealest width?

Thanks

James

I resemble that remark. Nothing seats stubborn beads quicker than a little bit o' ether and a match. Just FYI... Do it outside and not on the garage floor.
Never done it but seeing how it is on youtube doesn't look that hard just got to watch and not blow it up lol
mine will be for sale soon.and with the backspacing on them they dont rub the leafs.located in tucson az though.also has new 37 militarys on them.
Cory

I would happily drive there once I get back from afghanistan and go on leave. Would be early January time.or whenever is good for me to come down and take them off your hands
thats probably around the time i will be swapping to my new setup.im going to 39 inch.so i will probably have them sitting around.
I pm'd you and when I get back to the states I'll keep in contact. Can you email me some pictures and specs of the wheels. Backspacing and thing like that?

Thanks
