Does anyone have any knowledge or has ever tried to advance the injector timing , the engine sounds so heavy and is very lazy on take off , once it is up there around 45 / 55 MPH in high or OD , it picks up like crazy , I have also had a experience when I was changing out a CPS , that the valve clatter became much quieter , but shortly after came back to normal , but being a little quieter and same power actually sounded good , mind you this of course is with NO LOAD at all , just some thoughts on this - Frank

You're hearing injector clatter. Do you have good fuel pressure/clean filter? You have to be on the turbo for a stock 7.3 to have power in my opinion. The engine is rated at a higher RPM, if I'm pulling something, I run mine up around 2700-3100 before shifting..Usually much lower if I have no load.

Dont most of the tuners try to stay away from changing the timing a whole lot though? Correct me if I'm wrong I just thought that it usually wasn't very conducive to making hp?
