Can the 3.73 gears from a 10.5" rearend be swapped into a 10.25" with 4.10 gears? I remember reading something about this a few years ago, but I can't find the info. Tried searches, but no luck.

Thanks.

I believe all of the aftermarket gears are for 10.25's but will fit 10.50's but I dont know if factory 10.50 gears will fit 10.25 rearends

Thanks for the reply. I am considering a set of gears from a 2004 F250 SRW, Dana 60 front/10.5 rear. If they fit, it will be an affordable swap for me down the road.

Thanks, again.

It is the same exact axle housing. The difference is in the pinion depth and positioning of the carrier in the housing by shimming it accordingly.
