I know wrong site but nobody helps me more than this site. I am looking to do a cam upgrade to my 08 4.8 sierra. I not looking to drag race but looking to add power for better towing so i want low/mid range power. what would be a good cam and size for my needs? also going to do sum tuning and short tube headers

Yup. I put an LS6 cam in a 4.8 once and wish i could have had one custom ground. The entire power band was way better but to me didnt have enough lope.

Best thing for these engines is straight pipes and intakes, the heads breath pretty good stock, but my 5.3 is bone stock minus the muffler and it made a night and day difference in off the line power and top end. plus it barks nice and raspy.

camshafts-you want a lower Lobe seperation angle for lower end power, slightly advancing it a couple degrees will give it more off the line power, lower duration is better for low end, and high lift is better because it will allow more air in and out.
