I'm beginning the teardown on my 6.4 with a burned piston. Taking out the intercooler, I noticed oil in the intercooler.

Should I expect to see this knowing the truck has a burned piston or should turbo seals be considered? Truck has 56k miles. Thanks!

More than likely thats from excessive crankcase pressure pushing oil through the CCV system, especially since you have a burned piston. But, anything is possible..
See how much play are in the compressor wheels.

I agree with a Matthew . It is most likely due to excessive crankcase pressure I would expect oil in the intercooler with your issue .
