First...yea...it's filthy. I haven't felt like cleaning anything and it rained again this morning so shut up. LOL

OK...started with this:

Yanked the bumper...obviously.

Trashed the blocker beam...not like I need it anyway.

5 minutes with a Sawzall and there's no going back now.

Separated the bumper mounts from the part of frame I lopped off and added some 1/4" flat bar to stiffen it up.

Measured about 40 times and welded the mounts back to the frame.

And that left me with this:

I definitely like how everything lines up better than before.

I had to make some new pieces to stiffen up the bumper...the old ones attached to the blocker beam...didn't take pics of those.

I'm doing my rear bumper sometime between now and TS.

I did when I had an 08 bumper on it a while back...that looked really good with the brackets sectioned 1"
The front was 1 1/2"

I ended up doing the rear tonight, sectioned 3/4" on a 99/07 bumper. Looks great, thanks for the motivation Rich. My front measurement was 1-1/2" just as yours though.

and yes...I used the newer header panel with the conversion.

i'd say so. LOL wouldn't have thought you were certified and all that, but the welds show it. again, great job man. such a small change made it look quite a bit better.

It looks to me like your grille leans "out" slightly, as in, it's closer to the radiator at the bottom than at the top. Mine does that... It kills me...
