totaled my audi s4 few weeks ago... buying my first diesel.
2005 f-250 113k miles crew cab

so guys, ive obviously heard a few things that are wrong with the 6.0 (again im a noob though)

so what things can i do to mod this engine to be BULLETPROOF? EGR heads etc.

thanks guys!

any info would be GREAT!


truck is mainly stock i believe

Here's my rookie suggestions:

1) Get the Ford service department to run an OASIS report on the VIN. This will tell you all the service work done by Ford dealers for your truck.
2) Report your findings.

Standard suggestions:
Coolant Flush
EGR Delete
Studs w/OEM head gaskets
Oil cooler replacement
6.4L fuel banjos
Blue fuel pressure spring update
Turbo oil feed and oil drain lines update
STC fitting update
Gauges (your choice)
Exhaust (4" is PLENTY)
SCT w/custom tuning
Oil by-pass filter kit
Coolant filter kit
PowerMax turbo
155-175cc injectors (as needed)
