Honestly there isn't one damn thing that has ever really helped economy wise.I think it is more a placebo like not stomping on it as much and baby the throttle.Doing that I always get better fuel mileage but what the hell is the point to add a part then drive it easy.

It did quiet down and got rid of a miss I had with the new Grey CPS the 20 dollar one that JSM1 hooked me up with.

When I had the blue sensor in my truck it was real smokey. I finally put the black sensor back in and the truck was less smokey and seemed to get better fuel milage.

I would think a blue CPS would indeed hurt MPG. Anything that retards injection will give the fuel less time to completely burn means you need more fuel next combustion event.

Yeah, I'm sure the blue CPS quiets her down. Retarded injection will do that. The most efficient engine is the one rattling like crazy at low RPM.

Now isnt that why the higher HP settings on most chips give the best MPG under normal-EZ driving because they are "ADVANCING" the timing? But then again WTFDIK...:rockwoot:

We ran one for a few months back before we had a chip. When you hammered it, it would put out a slight gray haze. Even with a straight pipe it just seemed like something was holding it back. The blue one will turn it into more of a dog. I don't know what affect it had on the MPG. The thing that really made us ditch it for another black one was when winter came around. When it got cold & it was below freezing , it would go into the whole "Hi-Idle & Exhaust back pressure valve thing". But it would stay there for a long time without much affect. Installed the black one & worked like it's supposted to. Retarding you timing in subzero temps on a cold Diesel isn't the best idea.
Still have it for a spare, that's just what I think of them now. I'd only install one in an event that a black one failed.
Kinda wonder what would happen if you had one & put a DP Tuner on Lope Idle...?
