what other signs will be apparent on a blown headgasket ASIDE from white smoke and chocolate milk for oil (i dont have those things by the way)? truck runs fine and everything as far as temps are spot on but the degas bottle has barely if not any coolant in there!

i have puked before with the 310 and the 275 but havent with the 250 and am currently running the new 210 TP.

any insite on this would be awesome...thanks in advance!:ford:

If your upper radiator hose stays solid all the time even over night they are gone. Some times you won't see the white smoke and a lot of times no coolant will get in the oil.

One more sign. When you come to an idle. You will loose heat in the cab.

im good on all of that...
heats always consistant

im going to being doing studs anyway and most likely gaskets, just to have everything fresh. im probably looking too far into this but it is something i noticed in my dirty engine bay, lol

so a couple of ?s

do you have egr coolers

is your tail pipe wet

have you had any recalls done

have you had multiple radiators under warrnty

have you got re disined t-stats

the upper rad hose has been re desined instead of one o ring it has two on t-stat housing

any more ?S pm me

i have only seen two trucks with blown head gskts but they came in hydro locked

i do have the coolers (will be gone soon)
no the tail pips is not wet
recalls were done a year ago...new radiator, venturi T, and the EGR valve got stuck open and fixed under warranty (before tuning)
the radiator hose im not sure of, im pretty stearn when my truck has gone to the dealer on all recalls being up to date on my truck, as well as stuff coming up or stuff they know of has been happening with my truck.
i most likely have to add a bit more fluids and if you take off the cap the fluid is there

take a light and a mirror on a stick and inspect that upper hose with the truck running move it around

most i have seen leak towards the rocker panel

i have replaced a few lower rad hoses at engine
they ussualy just seep tho

do you sill have your doc pipe on your engine
thats the pipe from the lower cooler to the turbo

if a cooler has a small leak the doc pipe will slo it done from getting it in your turbo.

im doing a short block on a 6.4l that a cooler went out on and filled the doc pipe up with coolant and bent cyl 8 rod and runt the dpf

all the piping is stock, all the boots are stock. ill give it a good look tomorrow. there is nothing leaking, coolant wise.
ill probably change the all the fluid in the radiator to new and go from there.

use gold coolant 6gal 50/50

if you drain your coolin system

so whats your concern
or are you just wonderong what the concerns are for blown head gskts

they only sell the gold with out the 50/50 right?
the coolant level in the degas bottle is REAL low, i have filled it up and it has puked before (on the big tunes), i only put in 1 gallon of the gold but not all at once.
the cause of my concern is because it was brought to my attention. like said before, the temps and everything is fine, i would like to know other signs aside from the milky oil, puking, white smoke and water in the tail pipe, and also what was said prior about the heat and firm hoses.
this is also so others can know what to look for...
just trying to look out for others is another big one.

yea just buy 3 gold then fill the empty jugs with water
i really dont have much experience with tunes but i wana turn my dads 6.4l up
your doc pipe will soak up the mosture for a lil while then since
you have no dpf it will blow white smoke
and you will loose heater at idle
firm hoses means a pressured cooling system
your de-gas cap blows off at 15lbs
so your (big tunes) build press big time


im all for helpin pepole out

thats the only way you learn
