Best shocks for 05’ F-250?

I’m getting ready to pull the trigger on a new set of shocks for my 05’ F250. It’s got set of worn out Rancho’s on it right now……no telling how many miles they have on them, but they are shot. The thing really rocks around a lot when I’m pulling by camper….and overall just rides terrible.

I’ve been searching through the forums, and it seems like most people either recommend some flavor of Rancho or Bilstein shocks…..but the problem is, most of the posts I find on shocks for the 03’-07’ Superduty’s are way back from the mid/late 2000’s. Before I go ahead and order a set of shocks, I just wanted to see if there was anything new out that would be worth a try…..or are the same options that were available 10 year ago still pretty much the only options I have today?

Oh…and this is for a stock ride height truck…no lift on it.

Thanks

Yes, 4x4. Stock suspension, stock ride height.

@Zmann likes the Rancho 9000's and they are adjustable. For stock height I would be inclined to run Monroe shocks. They are lifetime warranty and valved for the truck.

Bilstien has the 4600 for stock height. 5100 for lifted trucks, then the 5125 and 5165 for more preformance.

Are the 5125 and 5165 for lifter trucks, or stock ride height? What is "better performance"?

Re: Best shocks for 05’ F-250?

For what I'm wanting to do....which is basically just have better ride quality, I'm not sure I need to spend a fortune on shocks.......some of that stuff gets crazy expensive.

From what I've been able to gather up...it looks like the Bilstein 5001's, or Rancho RS5000X shocks are the best deal out there for a stock height truck. Monroe makes some that would work, but they aren't much cheaper than the Rancho's.

Is there a big difference in ride quality between the Rancho RS5000X shocks and the Bilstein 5001's?

can't really say, because the rancho shocks i took off were shot. the ones on the 02 had 30k miles on them, the ones on the 14 only had 21k on them. both leaked like crazy, and rode like they had no shocks at all.

Anyone know anything about ProComp Shocks? I saw they have some twin tube shocks for a pretty good price......a set of 4 of the ES9000 Twin Tube Shocks for under $200. Good deal?
