This is just my opinion!

I look at UOA's and how well oils perform in real world tests. What HDEO's have proven to protect, and remain shear stable in tough conditions?

These are the oils that I consider to be top notch performers.....Delo 400 15W-40, Schaeffer's 7000 15W-40 semi syn, Schaeffer's 9000 5W-40 syn, Rotella T SYN 5W-40, and Delvac 1 5W-40.

What is the best oil as far as value/protection is concerned IMO? Schaeffer's 9000 5W-40.

I've been running the Amsoil full synthetic in my Powerstroke for about 10 years now, and I have the dual filtration system, also by Amsoil. Change my oil and full flow filter at 15,000, then at 30,000 I change oil and both filters, and have continued doing this since the inception of running synthetic, and my oil analysis comes out good each time! So...basically an oil change every 15k, and it works well for me. I have close to 120k on my 7.3, and it's running as great as when I bought the truck brand new in '95. :)

wanna go cheap on a paint job, tires, tint, stereo... fine
just don't do it with your oil

I've been running the Rotella synthetic for about 45k miles, changed every 5k miles, but after reading posts on here, am making the strong consideration to switch to Valvoline Extreme Blue. But just in case, where do you find the Schaeffers? I've heard really good things about that oil as well. Thanks.

Not sure where you can find it locally. I got the Extreme Blue from NAPA.

Great, I have a a couple a different Napa Stores to choose from within 15 miles from me. Otherwise I was waiting on a response from Valvoline on where to pick it up from.

Has anyone researched what dino oil holds up best with dual pumps?

I used to run rotella, and switched to delo 400. but the delo runs a bit hotter than the rotella so i may try something else.

What about the regular valvoline blue?

Yep, found it at NAPA, but they had to order it in for me. Will be Monday before they get it, which is good because I onlyt have a couple hundred miles to go.

Which dual pump setup are you running? Some dual pumps tend to shear the oil much quicker than single pumps setups.

Going with a high Viscosity Index 15W-40 oil would be better than a 5W-40 if viscosity shearing is an issue.
