I see some pretty good reviews on this forscan software you guys are using. What is the best connection to have between laptop (or whatever) to the truck? I normally run a MacBook but have a laptop with windows as well. Can y'all suggest the best usb system? or is bluetooth a better system.

Thanks

Likely.stick with many good reviews.
I only say usb, because others have said it seems to react faster than a Bluetooth or Wi-Fi one.
Here's one of each. I can say the obdlink one is great.
But it does depends on your computer's capabilities.
What's good about the Bluetooth one, you can use it with a android tablet or phone to run torque, car gauge, a lighter version of forscan, etc.

This is the one I have it works great.

Sent from my super awsome outdated new Samsung phone whose 500mA draw hasn't over-overloaded multiple already over rated branch circuits just beyond the kaboom point and caught everything on fire yet. So @heavydoc can be happy that it finally did.🤣 And @Turd-250 "WILL" be blamed for.

I just grabbed one for 18 bucks! Forscan diagnostic for pc is only for windows. The obd connector has to be elm compatible. I used this to correct hyper flashing after switching to LED tail lights. Had it turned off in less than 2 minutes. The only catch is that after you install forscan on your windows laptop, you have to follow the instructions on the site to sign up for the extended license. Without the license, you can’t write anything or change any settings, but it can still be used for diagnostic purposes without the extended license..

I bought this one from Ebay for my 2012 Raptor and it has worked to do everything I wanted to. Nice having the access to both sides of the CAN.

(of course it went up $5 since i bought it last year.)

Forescan software is nice too. Used it on both my Fords to get error codes and even my brother-in-laws. Short learning curve but there are forums and even Forescan has a good support forum. I think wise choice of software.
