I've got a 1983 7.3l f250 turbo diesel with a broken adapter plate. It basically is the mount for my starter. It's cast metal, I know it can be studded and welded, but idk how to do it. Every wrecking yard and parts store I've called has no clue even with pictures what it is to be able to order a new one. Please help I've attached pictures to help explain where and what's broken

That's an engine spacer plate. I believe the bell housing bolt pattern is the same all the way up to 97. Possibly 03.

It should be cast aluminum and I agree with zmann it needs replace. Any junk yard with an 6.9 or 7.3 should have one. Also I believe some a big block 460 has the same pattern but I'm not sure the spacer is the same.
