My truck just started having an interminttent steering issue. The steering jumps back and forth like your jerking on the wheel. Whole front end is tight and I rotated the tires and I have the same issue. Could the steering box be going bad? Theres no play in the steering wheel. 2003 F250 on 35's

Does this happen while driving? Or just sitting still and turning the wheel?

I think what you are explaining is the steering is real "darty" where it wants to dart one way based on very little steering input. 95% of the time this happens because toe is out of whack. Check your alignment, either take it to a shop, or get out your tape measure and check it yourself.

Like Dan said , front alignment. You hit a pothole, or a parking buffer somewhere pretty good
