Need some help desperately. I have a 2003 f350 with the 6.0 in it. I was having issues with it and found that the stand pipes and lines were bad. The truck then started but ran like trash. Tested Everything and it would only have 1500psi wot. So I decided I was done playing games I installed a new hpop, ipr, ipc (both with new pig tails.) cleaned everything really good. Now the truck cranks but won’t start. Gets up to 85% while cranking. When the icp is plugged in it reads 10psi while waiting once cranking it only goes to 280 to 320. Definitely not enough pressure to fire it. When I unplugged the icp still no start. Could I have wired the icp pigtail wrong. Did one wire at a time following off the old icp. What could it be. Since it still don’t start with the icp unplugged. Possible pcm maybe. Please help. Need this for Monday for work

I agree I’m going to watch the video that @HydroTek has in here and redo both the Ipr’s I have for spares. I’m even gonna keep the old injectors and rebuild them at some point.

so just did the air test and it holds I pulled the oil cooler and sucked out the oil this is the filter the whole thing was like this. Possibly the issue you think
Bumper Automotive tire Wood Automotive exterior Tints and shades

That is the suction filter for the HPOP
def will starve it for oil if that screen is plugged
Question is:
Where did all that junk come from?

That area is supposed to be straight from the oil filter
so, filter not working or wrong filter - cap combo ?
Engine been over heated ? and that is coked oil ?

I believe it’s from when my son put helicoils on the oil rails and valve cover bolts. They idiot just now told me he didn’t cover the heads while doing it. With the oil cooler pulled out I’m getting gurgling come through that area. If I’m not mistaken that’s the sign of a bad hpop correct. Even though it’s new
Where are you putting the air ?

a little air is normal for the axial style pump -- so gurgling with 100+ psi would be expected -- blowing would not
Through the Ipr hole. It’s not blowing out it’s just a gurgle but it does lose air pressure
JMO I also feel a good amount gurgling back through the HPOP suction is an issue. Try rotating the engine over during the air test to see if the gurgling improves or worsens.

Need a video to determine "how much is too much"

With the axial pump there are a few paths for leaks
one is the piston fit in the cylinder bore
another is the valve plate to cylinder -- easily scarred from debris
-- still another is a lube passage in the slipper of the piston (if this pump has them) -- orifice hole
I don’t know how to put a video on here. I’ve done an air test on it it sounds like I have air coming out of the hpop cover. I’m gonna buy a j pipe and try that along with new hpop o rings.

For a video you need to host it on a site such as Youtube and then link to it on here.

Ok still chasing this leak. I ended up replacing the tube still has the leak. Ended up pulling the me hpop and did a visual comparison. I found this. Wondering if this makes a difference. The old is on the left the new is on the right. I noticed the new one doesn’t have a ball type thing where this plug is

Yes - that makes a difference. Without the ball, that is a leak on the suction side. Hopefully the ball dropped down to the oil pan! It will almost never start with that ball gone, and if it does start, it won't run well ...... and probably would soon stall.

Where did you buy the new HPOP?
New OEM ones should have a threaded port and a plug. Even then, the only HPOP's I would depend on would be ones from CNCFAb or Dieselsite.
The hpop came from diesel source. The new one never had the ball in it it came the way it is in the picture.
Sorry the name of the company is diesel care and performance (dpc).

Looking a little closer, it appears to be a threaded plug in the hole. Maybe with a female allen head (6 pt). I didn't see it at first look. Please confirm that it is a plug that is in there.

As far as the company goes - I haven't seen any forum endorsements of them.

This doesn't look very good:

No it’s not a plug it looks more like a broken bolt of some sort
