i been talking to some local boys and they say you can take a compressor housing and wheel off of a few different "garret" turbos and put them on a stock obs turbo for more air of course plus my compressor wheel is junk! thanks guys!
I've often wondered if you could take the compressor wheel off of an SD turbo and put it on an OBS, since it moves more air. The OBS wheel works on an SD...
I feel ya bro. Not everyone has tons of money to throw at their trucks. Try it! As long as nothing contacts the cover, I say you might see some reduced EGT's if it does in fact work. What mods do you have?
I have an obs turbo with a superduty wheel sitting in my garage, it fits in and should work but I havent put it in am truck to see if I can feel a differance yet.
I doubt it'll give ya much gain though the only reason I did it was because I pulled the weel out of the obs turbo so a buddy could use it as a wicked wheel in his 02
well i may be wrong but i figured it flow quit a bit over the stock obs wheel and housing? and i think you can use more than just the superduty style but cant find the specs on other garret turbos in that family!
