I have intermitent leak, comes from above crank pully. may show up about once a week. I can't see where it is coming from. I don't know if water pump or gasket or a hose clamp? has anyone else had this happen to them? Water make up is about a cup in 800 or so miles.

Check the weep hole on the water pump. If it leaking out of a hose just get it warm and maybe you will be able to hear it loosing pressure.

Get a coolant pressure tester and pump the pressure up to 15psi and wait 10 mins. If the pressure drops without any drips, you have an internal leak, obviously if you see drips, track back to the source.

Or you could simply grab the fan and see if there's any play in it. If there's play, replace the water pump. I have one for $50 shipped. Also, look at the big black donut gasket where the intake sits on top of the front over.
