After going back and forth on how "wild" I wanna get. I think I'm just going to go on the "lighter" side of things, no twins, etc..

My question on injectors is altitude related. Previous experience w/ big injectors in a Cummins (24v) was at high altitudes (aka 10k feet +) it started REALLY hard, and extremely hard in cold winter weather. I remember one Elk hunting trip camped @ 11k feet and 0 degrees out, that darn Cummins was idling so hard I thought the motor was gonna jump out of the hood :eek:

Has anyone at high altitudes and winter weather had experience with about a 175 or 190cc injector? Did the pickup still start good at altitude and run well in cold winter high altitude weather (before warmed up)


Also I'll ask it here to save a new thread. How's the Powermax HO spool? I travel alot of windy steep mtn roads with a HEAVY trailer. I cant stand a smoky pig of a diesel that you have to feather your foot to keep EGTs inline. Does the Powermax HO spool as good or better compared to the stock 04' turbo I have?

I'm in rapid city sd about 4000ft 1 degree this morning I have a 63.5 powermax stock sticks hot tune. Starts good a little choppy at first runs great loaded or unloaded with tune adjustments I wouldn't go bigger then 175/75 with a working truck but really the performance is all in what tune your running ficm tuning will help with the cold weather

Ive never heard of anyone having altitude issues with the 6.0 injectors.
I dont get into the mountains much though.
Make sure you run 5-40 Synthetic though. It will make it start alot easier due to the HEUI system.

I also wouldnt get 175/75.
If your gonna go with 175s get 175/30

Arent 175s only good for about 40 rwhp? That hardly seems worth the 3-4k for the injectors for 40 hp :(

Not sure where u heard that but 175s are capable of WAY more than 40hp...besides they don't rate the injectors like that anyway.

I have Warren's 175 / 75's and have to be close to 600 Hp.

Truck starts and runs better than ever.

I rode in his truck it is f'ing fast it's all in tuning and supporting modes I don't think his guess is far off. It's faster than any 6.4 I've rode and us tx boys don't play on our trucks. Next month north tx dyno day, maybe he will get some legit numbers all I know is the day I rode in his truck I called warren for some new injector

Ok just wantted to confirm that are no real numbers any were.
