so i am sittin' here with this 2000 F250
I screwed up buying a short bed
cuz now i am sitting here tryin' to covert to a drw and my options are very limited

what makes more sense?
still try to find a bed and shoot new paint on the entire truck and cherry this dang thing out buy addressing interior and everything

or
find a nice flatbed (along bradford built lines) and use the extra money for performance mods

or
pull my trans and trade off on a LWB DRW (taking the chance of finding someone else's headache)

Why do you want to convert to DRW? Won't raise your legal towing limit 1 lb. (not that I follow that )

I would sell the truck and get what you need. Factor in the price of the trans when you list it.

Look around for one with a blown motor, buy it cheap, swap your motor and tranny into it, and have a spare truck sitting there with the rest of the parts.

Like you said, with how much you have into it now it's more or less your truck. I'd find or build a 6' flat bed for it & convert it into a dually. Get your gooseneck hitch & your good to go.

I love the Bradford Built stepside beds. If I ever switch to a flatbed, that's the one I want, with a few minor changes.

They seem to be really great products, but I've heard they're pretty expensive.

they make stock 6 3/4 beds for dualie trucks you might be able to find one, youre more likely to find a flat bed, good luck.
