Hi guys

I want to add a air kit to my truck so I can run air horns, a BD exhaust brake and a Front air bags.

What parts do I need to buy?

How should I set it up?

thanks,
Andrew

You have rear air ride? How are the air bags filled to maintain ride height?

Everything is automatic. Their is a switch with two positions dump or inflate.

Underneath it looks like their is a port or 2 off the air tank how would I go about running them off there?

thanks,
Andrew

Are all the ports on the tank used, or are one or two plugged?

Drain the air out of the tank and remove a plug. Install a fitting of the appropriate size (available at your local semi truck parts place), then run a hose to a valve of some sort (electrical or mechanical, your choice), then run a hose from the valve to the air horns.

I think one is only being used.

What do I connect to the valve so I can control the horns?

thanks,

First of all, nice avatar. :pointlaugh:

Moving on, it depends on your valve. If you get a manual valve, just run a rod/ cable into the cab to pull or push to work it. If you get a solenoid valve, then it will need a hot and ground wire, with a switch. You can run a wire from battery hot to a switch, then from the switch to the valve, then a ground from the other post on the valve to the frame. Or, you could run a wire from battery positive to the valve, then a wire from the ground/ negative post on the valve to a switch, then from the switch to a ground on the frame.

I'm not sure how the SD factory horn works. On my OBS, it was a hot side switch that grounded through the horn assembly. I basically removed the hot wire from my factory horn and ran it to the solenoid valve, then a ground off the other side of the valve so that my factory horn pad triggered the air horn.
