So the other day I wanted to run a/c on my feet while I was towing my camper because the floor was getting hot. Plus I like having cool feet anyway. On the 08+ trucks they have a button so you can do that. My guess is it’s pretty easy to add one but would love to find a whole panel to fit in its place. Does anyone know if the mustangs or f150’s or rangers had that? @410customs.

Clearest pic I could find, without going outside to get one. Lol
But it's technically on the heater side, but I don't think it kills a.c.

That's what mine looks like. As soon as I come off of a/c the compressor turns off. Except on defrost the compressor runs.

I have been considering making something using vaccum valves so I can have ac on floor and vent cause the obs dont have that as an option. I was looking at the 2000 panels and wondering if I can replace the electrical switch with the cable control from my old control head and then add a over ride button for the ac.

How about defrost/floor with the temp to cold? Compressor should still run, shouldn't it?
Don't think it does.
"Should be" and "do" are different things. As I said, it's on the heater side.

You can do the digital climate control swap...

Yes but with the defroster on, doesn't the compressor run?

The digital HVAC control head will work in a truck that come with a manual unit? That would be waaaay cool. :rockwoot:

Usually only in the actual defrost/windshield setting.
Should be able to switch settings and hear the compressor kick in and out. It's not quite that simple of a swap. Lol wiring and sensors too.

Okay, mine appears to run the compressor on those settings as well.
But I'm going off temp feel out the vent. But it's 70 out and kinda chilly. Lol so May be skewed.

70*. One can only wish. I can't even remember what 70* feels like. I don't think it's been 70* here since March even at night. "Please Fall hurry up and get here!" Can't wait to wake up, walk outside, and get that cold chill shiver from say high 50's* low 60's* telling me hot weather is finally GONE!

What would it entail to switch out? Do you know of any write ups.

I have seen a few writeups. Mostly on obs trucks. I don't have any links saved.
Searching for xXxX year f250 climate control swap will bring some up.
I did see a possible mention of the pcm being different(but that was a 04, so likely doesn't apply).

What about using controls from a Lincoln town car?

I'm not opposed to it. I did a few Ebay searches and the only ones to look like it would work would be the 05-07 f250 units. I didn't like the 02-04 versions, they didnt have the a/c button.
